I visited the zoo for the first time since years with Yibo last Saturday ^^ I had a good time. I can’t remember when was my last time there. It was quite a spontaneous decision, like the night before haha.
And for the first time I paid for my own zoo tickets (previously I either went there with the family or on school excursions). Didn’t realize a trip to the zoo can cost $20+ pfft haha. Oh Singapore residents get a 15% discount when you purchase the tickets onsite! And well apparently Singapore Zoo has a pretty impressive world ranking.
We took a cab there from AMK Hub because it was kind of central for us to meet there. But actually we could have just taken the bus, didn’t take that long for us to get to AMK when we took the bus from the zoo. We bought bread and sushi to eat at the zoo because we didn’t have breakfast yet heh.
Exploring the zoo hehe ^^v
We followed the feeding route because it was happening as we walked by the enclosures. It’s been a while since I saw this many animals. The last time when we went to the River Safari it was mainly fishes, and plus the Amazon River boat ride wasn’t open yet so it was quite dull 🙁 Was excited to see all the animals.
The lions were really majestic *-* I was disappointed that there weren’t any female lions there though. I watched their feeding haha and well they weren’t really good at catching the pieces of meat that were thrown to them. It was quite underwhelming to see them miss HAHA.
Haha at one point the keeper was throwing bananas to the orang utan that was hanging above our heads 😮
There were many many monkey enclosures. Too many species of primates for me to handle. It disturbed me a little that they seemed so human-like. Hahaha.
This big gorilla (?) was sitting there #likeaboss, as though he was posing for the camera and showing off his crib. How smug. Very human-like indeed. Hilarious hahaha.
A lot of the enclosures only had one animal. I felt sorry for them, why so lonely? Wonder where they keep the other animals too. Like where else, if they are not out in the display area.
We watched the two shows. The first one I forgot the name. It was at the Shaw Amphitheatre. It was really lame -_- The animals hardly did any tricks or stunts or whatever you call it, it was a plain display of the animals. A little like a runway show hahah and that was it. Was so shocked with how short it was. Why did they bother… The elephant show was impressive though! They made it entertaining and the elephants were so cheeky haha. Good performance too! But we didn’t make it there early enough and ended up having to stand up at the back. Lucky that the view was okay though 😛
At the elephant show heh 😉
Hehe I like this photo Yb took of me. Such a demure girl there. We didn’t take many photos that day.
Saw a little pony at Kidzworld. It looked REALLY depressed. It didn’t move from that spot when we came back around an hour later for KFC. Poor pony, like suffering from some lack of love.
We ate our sushi along the way, and finished our bread while queuing to buy the tickets. Then we also went to Kidzworld and ate at KFC there. Surprisingly I didn’t really have a craving for ice-cream that day though. Haha B&J’s was everywhere, tempting everybody in the midst of humid Singapore weather.
Thankfully the weather was quite windy that day, no blazing hot sun rays. 🙂 Humid as always though. But it wasn’t too bad. We left just as the zoo closed and slept allllll the way through on the bus ride to AMK haha. I barely noticed that we arrived until Yibo woke me up. We were so worn out.
Can’t wait for another outdoor trip like that. Probably not anytime soon 🙁 CNY and everything, then school starts getting busy. Sigh pie. More cafe chilling days for us then.
