The first running event I’ve ever attended! Unfortunately not voluntarily, and not very willingly too. My mum was able to get free sign-ups for the family so my dad signed up for the 10km run and the rest of us went for the 2.5km Community Walk-a-Jog. Really slack I know haha! There was a 6km one but let’s face it, I can’t deal with that LOL. I haven’t run more than 2km for a really long time already.
The walk was actually torturous enough because it was already so damn crowded and bottlenecks everywhere. Guess the route couldn’t really accommodate that many of us walking at the same time. No space for brisk walking hahaha. Anyway the walk also kick-started at 5.30pm, which is no time near sunset time 🙁 It was so hot omg I was sweating buckets just standing stationary at the starting point 🙁
What made us even more tired was that all of us walked from IMM to the starting point at Snow City. So before walking that 2.5km I was already so drained from sweating and walking 20 mins to the venue x_x We finished around 45 minutes I think, I was strolling behind with Tung at the end while holding our 100PLUS drinks in our hands haha.
The reflections off the lake *-*
This was around 7.30-ish while we were looking out for my dad to walk through those gates.
But what greeted us at the finishing line was very calming. I don’t think I have been to the Chinese/Japanese gardens much, let alone in the day. Probably once during the Lantern Festival. The sky looked really pretty and the reflection in the lake made it look so dreamy.
We lazed around for around an hour waiting for my dad to finish his race. He took longer than expected and said it was too packed to run comfortably lol. Oh wells, guess there’s the difference between commercial runs and this run that is organized entirely by volunteers? As amazingly as it is, I guess we of course can’t expect too much from it. Well done to all the volunteers though! They all looked very passionate at the event haha good jobs (Y)
