Singapore Sports Hub has just had its Open Day last weekend and I was there with my family to look around the place. The renovation is pretty great and the weather especially made everything better 🙂
It was really cooling that day and actually it was bordering on a rainstorm the whole day but didn’t. It made for perfect weather to be strolling in the outdoors and enjoying the view that was at the Sports Hub! We could see the Singapore Flyer and Marina Bay Sands from there. Unfortunately we couldn’t go into the stadium to look around though. It looked really majestic from the outside. I always pass by it on my bus 33 back home from NUS and I’ve seen its building progress over the months. Quite impressive I have to say.
I think there was some community walk/jog going on that day too and we saw many people dressed in red. We also checked out the new Kallang Wave Mall which just opened. Only the first floor was open I think, the rest are still under renovation. There are quite a few shopping outlets, like F21, Uniqlo (which had their opening sale!), H&M etc. And only one restaurant was open I think, okay or more like a fast food restaurant selling pizza.
Unfortunately Kallang Leisure Park was also under massive renovation, including the food court! It was so hard to look for food in that area. We ended up queuing for a good 20 minutes for a Japanese restaurant there which was expensive and had unimpressive portions of food 🙁 Didn’t enjoy the meal very much. We missed out on the fireworks though, think it happened while we were eating. Not that we were trying to catch it. We just saw fireworks display at the HP Family Day few weekends back!
Well it’s nice to spend some family time (also + my grandparents!) once in a while over the weekends. They don’t have to be long one day events, even a few hours outdoors, or just a short trip to the supermarket brings me such joy LOL.
We have so much fun, thankful for such close family bonds :’) I seem to always be thankful for a lot of things in my posts. Actually since the start of 2014, I have kept a journal and I write down things I’m thankful and happy about every day in there. It really helps keep me positive and going! 🙂
