Gerald's 20th

Celebrating our national treasure

I guess I ought to wish Singapore, my home country, a happy birthday. It’s been a good 20 years living here LOL. Despite the humidity, the suffocating crowds on trains and sometimes the rudeness of people, I actually couldn’t imagine living some place else.

We celebrated Gerald’s birthday with another rare full attendance! My only male friend other than Yibo. As in among closer friends. I was really surprised we could get a full attendance this time again! Auspicious dates again and again this holidays huh?

Thanks to Yibo for buying Gerald’s present from his Germany trip early this year! And also for collecting the cake!

Weird photo composition thanks to the restaurant staff who wanted to place the signboard in the pic LOL.

We went to Bella Pizza at Robertson Quay area (near Clarke Quay, along the Singapore River). I’m not even going to talk about how long we took to get there LOL. We ordered 3 pizzas and 2 pastas to share among us 7! It was a really big meal, was so damn full after that! Plus we had an Awfully Chocolate 6″ cake as the birthday cake. Each person had quite a full slice! Very very full afterwards.

Despite there being a digital camera, trying to all squeeze into an iPhone selfie is always a must! (Plus Jieyu’s arm is our selfie stick.)

Am very delighted with the group photos we got after our hearty lunch. 🙂 The outdoor lighting was great and we had a very delightful lady who offered to help us take a picture when she saw Yibo helping the rest of us get a shot. They turned out really nice 🙂 This may be our first group shot like that! Or the second one. And this is definitely my fave!

Also, Yibo snapped this really nice candid shot of all of us. I don’t quite remember what we were laughing at but everyone looks so much in their own element! Very heart-warming especially for the fact that these laughing expressions are so familiar to me :’)

We then walked back to The Central to have a little walkabout and ended up sitting down at the basement food court tables to chill out basically. Some of us bought Gongcha and we kinda just sat there catching up and taking pictures. Also taking forever to edit selfies to be printed on Gerald’s instax printer LOL. Girls.

I love how we are still all hang out together 2 years after leaving DHS. It’s been 4 good years in the running guys, and may things always stay as they are now 🙂 Love you all xx.

With love,
jtwong
