Thanks to Jieyu’s suggestion, we visited Manzoku Restaurant on girls’ night to try out their chirashi don. As someone who could probably eat Japanese food every day, I find the generous portion sizes and affordable prices at Manzoku tempting me to go back again for more!
Read on to see delicious photos of the chirashi don hehehe.
Tucked away at the ground floor of a shophouse on Purvis Street, Manzoku Restaurant is within walking distance from Bugis Junction or Suntec City. (In fact, it used to be near my office… #goodbyemiddleroad)
We made reservations for 7pm, which didn’t seem necessary when we walked in. But the restaurant filled up pretty quickly as the time passed so I guess making reservations are recommended if you don’t want to sit at the bar!
I loved the menu, filled with too many appetising food photos to tempt you to order everything. I went in knowing I wanted to get the Chirashi Set, but omg there were so many other items that looked just as delicious. Thankfully Bel ordered the Wagyu Don so we could sample something other than chirashi don.
The Chirashi Set ($25) looked as good as the photos in the menu, and we were not disappointed! I’m not an expert, but the fish tasted really nice and fresh, and the servings were so generous! Didn’t expect to feel so full the whole meal. The set mean’t we also had miso soup, and a side of watermelon for dessert – not too bad ey?
The Wagyu Don ($26) was on the recommended list of the menu, and I almost strayed from my chirashi order looking at it. So tempting, but luckily Bel ordered it so I could check it out! I promise it tasted as good as it looks! It also came with a mini sashimi salad and a side of watermelon! Yummyyyyyyy~
The chirashi don at Manzoku Restaurant did not disappoint, so glad we tried it out. Now, onto the hunt for the next restaurant to sample more chirashi dons -hehe-
