Hello!

I’m JT, a full-time photographer based in Singapore. I specialise in outdoor natural light photography for portraits and couples!

I started photography as a side gig in 2018, shooting only on weekends or weekday mornings. My clientele consisted of mostly tourists who were looking for a photographer to capture their holiday memories in Singapore. I then made things Instagram official in 2019 with my account @jtwonggg.photography.

Up till 2020, I was still offering photoshoots part-time while working full-time job in social media marketing. After months of feeling unfulfilled and burnt out, I decided to leave my job in January 2021 to become a full time photographer!

I felt like a brand new woman embarking onto this freelance journey. Ahead of quitting my job, I learnt and unlearnt many things in order to finally get the courage to create the life I wanted. I realised that I’d been holding myself back because of my insecurities and fears for most of my life. That life-changing realisation came after I started making an effort to care for myself – I took time to rest, to read, and to listen to my feelings so I knew what my triggers were.

In just a span of a year or less, I’ve made so much progress and I cannot be prouder of myself.

Now, I wish to use my platform not just as a marketing channel for my photography work, but also as a space to share my growth journey so others could make their own life-changing realisations.
