A portrait session at Merlion Park, Singapore

I used to visit Merlion Park pretty frequently with clients when I first started out with photography. These days it doesn’t happen as much, but I fall in love with this place each time I revisit.

Merlion Park is really close to One Fullerton – that’s where I tell my clients to drop off when we’re meeting for the photoshoot. This place is beautiful in the mornings and evenings. I like to be here before 9am to avoid the tour buses! It’s nice and quiet in the early mornings, but you’ll still see joggers or cyclists enjoying the start of their day.

It’s exceptionally beautiful here when you get direct sunlight in the mornings or afternoons! When the bougainvilleas are in bloom, it adds so much vibrancy to the photos too! Yes I’m realising we didn’t take any photos with the Merlion in this series, but that’s exactly why I like this location. We have more views than just the Merlion, like the Marina Bay Sands, and the Central Business District!
