My recommended tourist photo spots in Singapore (2026)

15th April 2026

I’m a photographer based in Singapore and I’ve been working with tourists since 2018. If you’re looking to take some amazing photos to remember your trip by, you should check out these photo spots:

Gardens by the Bay

This is by far my most requested photoshoot location amongst tourists. I love Gardens by the Bay for its variety of backgrounds – the view of the supertrees, Marina Bay Sands, the Flower & Cloud Domes, and even the Singapore Flyer!

I usually meet my clients by the main entrance of Gardens by the Bay, which is where the McDonald’s and Starbucks are located. The best timing to shoot would be 8-10am when the morning sun hits just right, and it’s not too hot nor crowded with tour groups.

My basic photoshoot package is good enough to tick off most of the entire Gardens of the Bay, even with an outfit change or two in between!

Address: 18 Marina Gardens Dr, Singapore 018953
Recommended time: 8-10am for morning light and less crowds

Marina Bay Sands & ArtScience Museum

You think of Singapore, and you think of the Marina Bay Sands too. My key photo spots here are the mall, the waterfront promenade, and the ArtScience Museum.

I love capturing the city skyline from the waterfront, and I recommend visiting The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands during Christmas for their extremely sparkly and dreamy decor every year.

Address: 10 Bayfront Ave, Singapore 018956
Recommended time: 8-10am for morning light and less crowds

Joo Chiat Peranakan Houses

These colourful Peranakan Houses along Koon Seng Road make a great photo backdrop and when you see it, you’ll understand why! This location features a side of Singapore that holds more history and heritage.

I love the vibrancy of the traditional shophouses here – they really make your photos stand out from the rest. Even the back alleys and side streets look pretty for photos.

Please also be mindful that these are residential buildings so remain respectful while you’re taking photos. I’ve also met nasty residents who are rude to tourists for no good reason so be prepared.

Address: 287 Joo Chiat Rd, Singapore 427540
Recommended time: 8-10am for morning light; 5-7pm for evenings

Merlion Park & Esplanade

You can’t leave Singapore without visiting the Merlion~ I usually meet my clients at the One Fullerton Starbucks so we can walk up to the Merlion statue together. We get a beautiful view of the Marina Bay Sands hotel on the way. The Esplanade promenade is also a short walk away across the bridge, where you can get a view of the CBD skyline.

I love coming here in the early morning before 8.30am for a clear shot of the Merlion, while the evenings from 5.30pm onwards look amazing for a photoshoot before dinner time. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a pretty sunset view too!

Address: 1 Fullerton Rd, Singapore 049213 (nearest drop off to Merlion); 1 Esplanade Dr, Singapore 038981 (Esplanade Mall)
Recommended time: before 8.30am for Merlion, after 5.30pm for evening shots

Chinatown

If you’re after some travel photos with plenty of local flavour, you can consider Chinatown as a photoshoot location! There is the Chinatown Complex Hawker Centre, Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, rows of traditional shophouses, and colourful wall murals.

While I love to shoot in the early mornings, I advise coming to Chinatown around 10am so more hawker stalls and street stalls are open. Come during Chinese New Year season and the streets will be extra festive for the occasion!

Address: 21 Banda St, Singapore 050005
Recommended time: 10am onwards

Blair Plain Conservation Area

Consider this the friendly, less crowded alternative to the Joo Chiat Peranakan Houses. Blair Road is a quieter neighbourhood, and the traditional shophouses actually look nicer and more well-maintained (imo).

You can even walk to the Everton Park estate just 5 minutes away to have some coffee and bites at the local cafes.

Please be mindful that these are residential buildings so remain respectful while you’re taking photos.

Address: 3 to 57 Blair Road, Singapore 089903, 089956
Recommended time: 8-10am for morning light

Singapore Botanic Gardens

The Singapore Botanic Gardens is currently Singapore’s only UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Some of my favourite spots within the Gardens include the Swan Lake, Bandstand, and Sundial Garden. The National Orchid Garden (a ticketed attraction) is also a beautiful spot for photos – I once did a proposal there!

I love coming here in the mornings (as usual), and evening light during 5-7pm is also really pretty especially around the Bandstand and Swan Lake.

Address: 1 Cluny Rd, Singapore 259569 (Use the Learning Forest entrance to be nearest to the National Orchid Garden and Bandstand)
Recommended time: 8-10am for morning light; 5-7pm for evenings

Haji Lane + Kampong Glam

You’ll find plenty of photo spots around Haji Lane and Kampong Glam – more than you’ll ever need! You can admire the wall murals, get a coffee at Arabica, visit the Sultan Mosque, and explore the shops along Arab Street or Haji Lane.

If you’re here early before 9am, you’ll avoid crowds. However, visit around 11am onwards, and you can browse the shops and possibly use them as a photo op!

Address: 51 Arab St, Singapore 199748
Recommended time: 8-9am for morning light and less crowds; past 11am to see the street come alive with the shops open for business

CHIJMES

This 19th-century heritage building is definitely a place to visit on your trip to Singapore if you’re looking to enjoy a nice dinner and drinks in the evening. I love to visit CHIJMES in the evening after 5/6pm when you can still see the sun shining above the chapel building, and the light gets softer towards sunset.

CHIJMES would be lower on the priority list for my recommendations to tourists, but it’s still a pretty venue!

Address: 30 Victoria St, Singapore 187996
Recommended time: 5-7pm for soft light during sunset, and you never know, you might see nice sunset hues in the skies!

National Gallery

National Gallery is quickly becoming a popular shoot location among the Chinese girlies on xiaohongshu (小红书)! It’s a great indoor shoot location that provides tourists some respite from the Singapore humidity. Extra points that it looks great for photos!

I love shooting here in the morning because the sun shines through the windows and the skylight roof on the top floors. It gets pretty dark in the afternoon when the sun shifts to the other side.

By the way, you can book the National Gallery for personal or commercial photoshoots.

Address: 1 Coleman St, Singapore 179803
Recommended time: 10am-12pm for the best light (gallery closes at 7pm)
